About This Product

A cargo load lock bar braces freight inside a dry van without a track, a bolt or a strap. You plant one end against the wall, ratchet the bar out, and the two rubber pads grip the sidewalls hard enough to stop a pallet walking forward under braking. Closed, the bar measures 89-3/4 inches. Extended, it reaches 104-1/2 inches, which covers standard 53-foot van width and most container interiors. The 1-1/2 inch tube is galvanized steel, so it takes daily loading without rusting out in a wet trailer.

Drivers reach for a load lock when the trailer is half full and the load needs a wall behind it. Two bars across the back of a partial load hold it through a hard stop. One bar between the nose and the first pallet stops the load sliding forward. Most vans carry two to four. No pallet minimum here: the price on one bar is the price on twenty. At 10.5 lbs you set each bar at chest height without a second person. Ordering for a mixed fleet? This one matches Ancra 4840710, Kinedyne 10085, Automann 573.HSCB2 and the CB301, EN801 and PR801R aftermarket numbers, so a single part number covers every trailer in the yard.

Important Notice

Bracing, Not a Tiedown

FMCSA defines a shoring bar as a device placed transversely between the walls of a vehicle and cargo to prevent tipping or shifting (49 CFR 393.5). It holds by tension against the sidewalls and carries no working load limit. The aggregate working load limit rule in 49 CFR 393.106(d) applies to tiedowns, so a load lock bar does not count toward it. Where the load calls for rated tiedowns, use them alongside the bar; 49 CFR 393.106(b) recognizes both as means of securement.
