How To Choose
A tarp is only as good as what holds it down and what fixes it when it tears.
Bungee straps are the only thing that belongs in a tarp D-ring or grommet. One S-hook into the ring, the other into your rub rail or a stake pocket. That is what pulls the tarp tight and stops it billowing at seventy miles an hour. Chains and winch straps secure the load, and they ride over the tarp, never through its rings.
For repairs, vinyl is the reason our tarps are worth owning. A tear gets a patch and a tube of HH-66 cement, and you do it yourself in twenty minutes at a truck stop. Tape handles the small stuff with no cement at all.
