About This Product

Eighteen ounce vinyl is the thickest fabric we stock, and it is what you want under steel, machinery, and anything with an edge that eats tarps. Abrasion is the enemy on that freight, and thickness is the only real answer to abrasion.

Be honest with yourself about the tradeoff before you buy it. This tarp weighs 71.5 lbs. The RipStop in the same 16x27 size weighs 50.7 lbs. That is twenty-one pounds you throw onto the load and drag back down, every trip. Drivers who tarp steel daily take the weight without complaining. Drivers hauling lumber and clean freight usually should not.

It covers loads up to 4 ft on its own. For longer loads, lay the rear tarp first with its flap toward the back, then the front tarp on top with its flap forward against the headboard, overlapping at the center so wind cannot get under either flap and water runs off toward the rear.

Key Features

18oz Vinyl, Our Thickest
The only real answer to abrasion from steel and sharp-edged freight.
Heat-Sealed Seams
Sealed hems reduce water entry compared with stitched seams alone.
2 Rows of D-Rings
Box-stitched onto seatbelt webbing. Bungee S-hooks clip here and run to your rub rail.
71.5 lbs, and You Will Know It
Twenty-one pounds over the RipStop. Worth it on steel, heavy on lumber.

Best For

Load Type
Steel, machinery, and freight with edges that chew through thinner vinyl.
Not Ideal For
Clean lumber and pallets. The RipStop does that job 21 lbs lighter.
Trailer Type
Flatbed and step deck, loads up to 4 ft high.
Safety Tip

Tarp dimensions may vary ±2% or ±6 inches from listed size — this is normal manufacturing tolerance, not a defect.
