Straight 14oz vinyl, top to bottom, no mixed panels. It is the standard workhorse fabric for lumber and building materials: thick enough to shrug off clean freight, thinner than the 18oz you would put under steel.
One thing to be clear about, because the old name on this page was misleading. At 92.6 lbs this is not a light tarp. It is the second heaviest 8 ft drop tarp we sell. The RipStop in the same 24x27 size weighs 76 lbs, which is 17 lbs less, and it repairs with glue instead of a sewing machine. If weight is what you are shopping for, that is the tarp, not this one.
Where it earns its place: uniform 14oz means no seam between a thick top and thin sides, and no weak line where those two panels meet. Simple construction, predictable wear, and a tear anywhere on it patches the same way, with the same kit.
