About This Product
A bare steel coil has no packaging on it. The edges come off the mill sharp, and thin vinyl does not survive that for long. This cover is 18oz, the same fabric we put on our heaviest lumber tarp, and it is the reason this tarp and the skidded coil tarp are not interchangeable.
That other one is 11oz, and it works because a skidded coil arrives from the port with cardboard already wrapped around the edges. Yours does not. Lay a moving blanket over the coil first, then drop this on top.
The shape is a fitted arch, not a flat sheet. It goes straight over a coil sitting in its cradle and follows the curve, so there is no loose fabric for the wind to catch and nothing to wrestle into place at the shipper.
Six foot covers most coils on the road. If you regularly haul the oversized ones, take the 7x7x7 instead.
Chain the coil down first. Crossed chains through the eye, plus a trip chain. The tarp is weather protection, and that is all it is.

Best For
Chain the coil to the trailer before you cover it: crossed chains through the eye, plus a trip chain against forward motion. This tarp is weather protection, not securement. The D-rings and grommets take bungee S-hooks only, so running a chain or a winch strap through them will tear the tarp. Put a moving blanket over the coil first, because mill-sharp edges will cut vinyl from the inside.
