Twist link tire chains give a semi truck traction on snow and ice that tire tread alone can't provide. This set covers 11R-22.5, 285/75-22.5, 295/75-22.5, and 275/80-24.5 tire sizes, one chain per tire, so the set of two outfits both tires on a dual-tire axle. Hardened carbon steel construction with a zinc chromate coating resists rust between winters spent in storage, so the chain is ready to go the first cold snap of the season.
These chains are DOT approved, meeting the standard carriers check for winter-route compliance. Install before conditions get bad rather than pulling over in a snowstorm to fit them for the first time, and remove them once roads clear since chains wear faster on bare pavement than the tire itself. Store dry between uses to keep the zinc coating doing its job, and check tension after the first few miles since chains settle and loosen slightly once they're actually rolling.
