Semi truck tire chains for 24.5in tires, sold as a pair of singles. The same chain fits 22.5in tires: 11R22.5 and 295/75R22.5. We fitted it on a 22.5in wheel to check. One set covers the outside tire on each side of one drive axle. Colorado asks for more: when its chain law is on, a tractor needs four drive tires chained, so an I-70 run takes two sets. The chain station is a bad place to find out you're two short. Our own drivers leave the yard with four sets, enough for any state's rules with room to spare.
Fit them before the weather turns, with the cam locks on the outside of the wheel. Roll 50 to 100 feet, stop and tighten again, because the truck's weight settles the chain that fast. The cams only pull in the slack they can reach, and once you're rolling the rest lets the chain shift and slap against the fender. A spider bungee on each wheel takes up what the cams leave.
Fourteen cross-links of 7mm hardened steel on each chain do the biting. They meet the NACM standard that state chain laws point to. Pull them once the road is clear, since bare pavement wears down the chain and your tread.
Each set comes double-bagged, heavy plastic inside thick canvas, so a set you don't use this winter stays dry in the truck until the next one. Dry the chains before they go back in after a chain-up.
