Twist link tire chains give a semi truck traction on snow and ice that tire tread alone can't provide. This set fits 285/75R24.5 and 11R24.5 tires, one chain per tire, so the set of two outfits both tires on a dual-tire axle. Each chain runs 14 cross-links with 10 individual links per cross-link, built from 7mm hardened carbon steel wire with a zinc chromate coating for rust resistance through seasons of storage between winters.
Four outside tensioning cams per set take up slack after the initial fit, since chains always settle once they start rolling. These chains are DOT approved for road use. Install before conditions turn bad rather than fitting them for the first time in a snowstorm on the shoulder, and pull them once roads clear since chains wear down faster on bare pavement than the tire underneath, cutting into both the chain's life and your tire's tread.
