About This Product
A coil protector sits between a securement chain and the edge of a steel coil, so the chain's tension loads against a wear plate instead of biting into the coil itself. This one pairs a steel exterior with a flexible rubber lining. The rubber absorbs and redistributes the chain's tension across the coil edge instead of concentrating it at one point. Sold as a set of two, enough to protect both sides of a single coil in one order.
Built-in ridges on the face grip the chain to stop it from walking or slipping under road vibration, and the steel exterior resists the scratching and denting that comes from repeated coil loading. Use one on each side of the coil, anywhere a chain crosses the inner core or outer edge. The coil core is the easiest point on a load to crush or deform if the chain bites directly into unprotected metal.

Best For
Seat each protector fully against the coil edge before tensioning the chain. A protector that isn't seated flat can still let the chain bite into the coil at the gap.
