About This Product

This is the big one. Most coils on the road fit under a 6x6x6, so buy this only if the oversized ones are what you actually haul. If you are not sure which you need, the 6 ft is the safer default.

Everything else is the same tarp. Eighteen ounce vinyl, the same fabric as our heaviest lumber tarp, because a bare steel coil comes off the mill with sharp edges and no packaging. Thin vinyl does not last on that freight. Lay a moving blanket over the coil first, then drop this on top.

The shape is a fitted arch, not a flat sheet. It goes straight over a coil in its cradle and follows the curve, so there is no loose fabric for the wind to catch at highway speed.

Chain the coil down first. Crossed chains through the eye, plus a trip chain against forward motion. The tarp is weather protection, and that is all it is.

Key Features

For the Oversized Coils
Most coils fit under a 6x6x6. Buy this only if the big ones are what you haul.
18oz for Bare Steel
Mill-sharp coil edges chew through thin vinyl. This is our heaviest fabric.
48 D-Rings
Two rows of 24, each on PVC-reinforced webbing. Bungee S-hooks clip here.
Fitted Arch, Not a Flat Sheet
Drops over a coil in its cradle and follows the curve. No fabric for the wind to grab.

Best For

Coil Type
Oversized bare steel coils in the shotgun or suicide position.
Blanket First
Lay a moving blanket over the coil, then this tarp. Bare steel eats fabric.
Not Sure?
Take the 6x6x6. It covers most coils on the road, and it is lighter.
Safety Tip

Chain the coil to the trailer before you cover it: crossed chains through the eye, plus a trip chain against forward motion. This tarp is weather protection, not securement. The D-rings and grommets take bungee S-hooks only, so running a chain or a winch strap through them will tear the tarp. Put a moving blanket over the coil first, because mill-sharp edges will cut vinyl from the inside.
