This kit bolts a headache rack to the truck frame without welding. Four U-bolts wrap under and around the main frame rail, tie plates and nuts clamp them down, and two reinforced rubber pads sit between the frame rail and the rack. The pads are the part drivers forget: they grip, and they take the vibration that would otherwise work its way into the rack and the frame over a season of loaded miles.
At 19-5/8" long with a 3-21/32" inside width, this is the size that fits most truck frames, which is why it is the standard kit. If your truck runs a reinforced or doubled frame rail, these U-bolts will not reach around it — order the 22in Extended kit instead. U-bolts install up or down, whichever clears your frame better.
