About This Product
This corner protector adds a rubber lining to the same steel-shell design as our standard corner protector. The steel still rounds the load's sharp edge, and the rubber grips the load surface so the protector stays put instead of sliding out of position mid-haul. Fits 1 3/4"-2" webbing, cable, and chain, and weighs 1.75 lbs. Black finish shows less wear than bare steel after months of daily use.
The rubber lining is the reason to reach for this version over the bare-steel protector. On smooth or painted steel coil surfaces, a bare steel protector can slip under vibration, while the rubber face bites in and holds its position for the whole haul. Same rule applies as any corner protector: federal cargo securement rules require edge protection wherever a tie-down crosses a sharp corner, so set one at every crossing point, not just the ones that look risky. Keep a few in the truck since they weigh next to nothing and take up almost no space in a toolbox.

Best For
Check protector position after loading. Even with the rubber grip, a shifted load can walk a protector out of place. Federal rules require edge protection at every sharp-edge crossing point.
